Hosts Myanmar reached the semi-finals of the Asian U-19 Championship after beating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 1-0 at Thuwana Youth Training Stadium on October 17 and qualified for the U-20 World Cup finals in 2015 for the first time. It is the first time a Myanmar team has reached the final stage of a world event after the 1972 Munich Olympics. The Myanmar team changed the formation to 3-5-2 to face the UAE team, as full-back Nan Wai Min got injured in the final group match against Iran.
